Proposals [Read critique]

1. Open IIT Online Events

Overview : I propose to introduce three online events viz. Kavya, Rachna and Chhavi to introduce new genres of poetry, digital designing and photography respectively in Open IIT.

Features :

  • The theme of the events will be based on pertaining social issues within or around the IIT Kharagpur campus to promote social awareness among the students of IIT Kharagpur.
  • These events would be a week long submission based event, starting tentatively around the month of August.
  • These events would be judged upon by the professors or alumnus of the institute considering they are most aware about the social issues in and around the campus.

2. Spring Fest Road Trip

Overview : I propose to organize around the country extensive publicity drive, Spring Fest Road Trip, for spring fest going to different college campuses conducting events and creating a buzz about spring fest in various cities all across the country. The Spring Fest Road Trip would be a mini fest in itself; it would help us in all the facets of the fests Publicity, Sponsorship and Events.

Features :

  • Conduction of 5 events and prelims of 3 events at 8 different cities.
  • The events will be conducted in the month of October and December in the selectcities.
  • The events will be held in a college premise on a particular city.
  • A specific vehicle would be used area to define the stage on the campus, whichwould represent Road Trip happening in the same city.
  • One head, two members and one associate publicity member will be required for theconduction of the events.

3. IIT Kharagpur-The Voice (IITKGP-TV)

Overview : I propose to start an online YouTube video channel of IIT-Kharagpur, THE VOICE, which aims at giving the viewers a sneak peek into the social and cultural activities, societies and life at IIT Kharagpur.

How it works :

  • The channel would be displaying various series that help the student community in various aspects, be it placements & internships or the general championships.
  • The channel will release a video every month having social messages.
  • The channel will also release videos teasers of productions and selections beingconducted by the various societies.
