Rajendra Prasad Hall of Residence

Believe it or not - even Ripleys vouches for it - these are Kharagpur's gentlemen, by choice. All of them. Despite the random allotment. What are the odds?

Hall Day: 22nd March
Watch out for: 60 scintillating years

Radha Krishnan Hall of Residence

The most "well endowed" hall, thanks to generous alumni. The residents also don't miss out any chance to stress its proximity to SN, SAM and Gokhale. *wink-wink*

Hall Day: 20th March
Watch out for: The cool wall graffiti featuring the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and John Lenon.

Megnad Saha Hall of Residence

They have been one year away from becoming the next big thing. For the past seven years.

Hall Day: 21st March
Watch out for: The 'Rising Kings'. Of what, you ask? Hmmm...

Lala Lajpat Rai Hall of Residence

On iitkgp.ac.in:
"Lajpatians seek an opportunity to excel at everything.." Hmm. "... a cricket ground and the best music room in the entire campus " Okay. "LLR's lions have never failed to shine.." Erm? "LLR's mess is unofficially the best mess in the institute." BWHAHAHAHA.

Hall Day: 19th March
Watch out for: The Rain Dance legacy. LLR was one of the first halls to be initiated to the order of messy, soaking wet dancers.

Madan Mohan Malviya Hall of Residence

Hall Day: TBD

Lalbahadur Sastry Hall of Residence

A commercial, mass produced, one-size-fit-all-solution to the burgeoning population. Reference applies to both the hall and its JEE champions.

Hall Day: 3rd March
Watch out for: The oodles of first year louve!

Patel Hall of Residence

Grand old men of the campus. Trivia : Did you know that their hall motto is "lux et veritas vincant". Heres looking you, Patelians.

Hall Day: 16th March
Watch out for: The poltu virus that might infect you with election fever.

Azad Hall of Residence

They belong to the ancient order of light, that first 'illuminated' Kharagpur. And then, a lot of years passed by.

Hall Day: 23rd March
Watch out for: The people you entered this hall with. Once separated from your group, the rest of the evening will be spent in a 'Khoj' in this ever growing concrete organism.

Nehru Hall of Residence

Hall Day: TBD
Watch out for: The cheese chotai at Aseems

Homi Jahangir Bhabha Hall of Residence

From a fledgling hall -> first choice of single-room-rejects of senior halls -> "Abe! Insti ka baap kaun hai?"

Hall Day: 17th March
Watch out for: The hexagonal architecture. It makes sure your dance moves on the rain-dance-floor are visible to everyone.

J C Bose Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 14th March

Vidyasagar Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 28th March

Sarojini Naidu / Indira Gandhi Hall of Residence

Amongst all halls/departments/societies, this one has the highest bandi ratio in the campus.

Hall Day: 18th March
Watch out for: The cleanest rooms, hallday or not. Also, flashmob? Please? Please please?

Mother Teresa Hall of Residence

As the new UG girls' hall, it's trying to redefine itself on the campus map. Also used as the other entrance to SN.

Hall Day: 15th March
Watch out for: The "spirited" crowd. The hallday with probably the maximum footfall.
Really watch out for: Flying furniture. Yes. Really.

Rani Laxmibai Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 8th March

Gokhale Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 1st March

B C Roy Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 7th March

Sister Nivedita Hall of Residence

Hall Day: 28th February

Ahoy!

Each hall in Kgp is a microcosm in itself, which goes a long way in shaping the identity of its inhabitants. Hall days are an opportunity to share with the rest of the campus, some of our secrets and all of our goodies. They are a time of merriment and warmth, and tracking them will be delightfully easy this year.
